A leading political group in Akwa Ibom State, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Grassroots Mobilizers, has congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel over his victory at the Supreme Court, stressing that the triumph goes on to validate the Biblical statement that, “if God Almighty is for us, no one can be against us”

Fielding questions from to a cross section of newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, the Coordinator of the organization, Comrade Aniefiok Akpaeno, popularly known as MEGA, hinted that the Supreme Court’s decision had put paid to the legal battle over the 2019 gubernatorial eelection in Akwa Ibom.

The Uyo born politician further noted that, “lovers of democracy must commend the resilience of the judiciary; from the tribunal to the Apex Court, in deepening the country’s democracy through its sound judgments”.

His words: “On behalf of the over forty thousand (40,000) PDP Grassroots Mobilizers in Akwa Ibom, I wish to humbly congratulate our leader and God sent Governor, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel on his victory starting from the Tribunal sitting in Uyo, Appeal Court in Calabar and the Court of last resort, the Supreme Court in Abuja. Indeed, these victories go on to buttress the fact that when you choose to walk with God, you can never walk alone,” Mega said.

Continuing, Comrade Akpaeno bellowed: “With this judgement, it is my hope that the verdict has put to an end the needless bickering, distractions and provocation that greeted the 2019 governorship election in our State”

Mega urged the petitioner; Mr Nsima Ekere and members of the opposition party in the State to gracefully accept the final verdict of the court of law, reminding that the winner, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel, had since demonstrated magnanimity by extending his hand of fellowship to them (opposition party) with a view to carrying everyone along in the arduous task of State-building.

He noted that, “now that the coast has been cleared, His Excellency is in a hurry to fulfil all his second term campaign promises as encapsulated in his 8-point agenda, namely; Industrialisation, Aviation Development, Rural and Riverine Area Development, Agricultural, Human Capacity Development, Security, Infrastructure, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises”

The leader of PDP Grassroots Mobilizers in the State, however, pledged on behalf of the organization, to raise the bar in educating the grassroots about the numerous achievements of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
